How do I clean my NIOX VERO®?

To keep the device in perfect condition, just follow the basic cleaning routine below:

NIOX VERO® and its attachments should be wiped with a cloth dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution
Don’t use compressed or canned air and please be careful not to apply any alcohol-based cleaning solutions. Alcohol can cause permanent damage and can potentially result in incorrect FeNO values

Can I clean the device with wipes?
Your NIOX VERO® can be cleaned with wipes but they must be water-based or made with a solution that doesn’t contain alcohol. Some of the most common approved active ingredients include:

Sodium Hypochlorite <1.5%
Quaternary Ammonium Compounds <5%
Biguanides <1%
Isothiazolinones 0.01%
Pentapotassium bis(peroxymonosulphate)
bis(sulphate) 40-55%
Malic acid 20-25%
Sulphamidic acid 4-6%
Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate 3-5%
Dipotassium peroxodisulphate <1.56%
Glucoprotamine 25-30%
Diethylene glycol mono-butyl ether 10-20%
Hydrogen Peroxide <2.5%
Glycolic Acid <2.5%

How do I guard against the spread of COVID-19 when using the device?
Sodium hypochlorite 0.5-0.65% is recommended against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19 virus) and can be used to clean the NIOX VERO®. Benzalkonium chloride 0.05-0.2% is also an effective cleaning agent against coronaviruses and is suitable for use on your NIOX VERO®.

Can I clean the patient filters?
No. Patient filters are for single use only. You can use the same filter for the same patient if you need to restart a test during a single visit. However, please use a new filter for each individual patient to avoid cross-contamination or infection.
